A total of 16 students from various departments of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Md Nurul Islam Memorial Trust Fund Scholarship” for their outstanding academic results on Thursday.
The recipients of the scholarships are – Joya Roy, Selim Rana, Tanjila Hossain, Gourab Chandra Roy, Amit Sarkar, Asif Ahmed, Osman Gani, Obaidul Hoque, Mamunur Rashid Zahid, Sumon Pradan, Kamrul Islam, Fazle Rabbi, Suchita Sarkar, Raminul Islam Rifat, Mirza Ashiq and Ishrat Jahan.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman distributed the scholarships among students as chief guest at the VC’s lounge of the university, said a DU press release.
DU Treasurer Professor Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Member of the trusty board Poet Ruby Rahman and Dean of the Faculty of Law Professor Dr Md Rahmat Ullah addressed it as special guest. DU Acting Registrar Md Enamuzzaman conducted the programme.
