One hundred and fifty nine trafficking-victim Bangla-deshis are set to return home from Myanmar on Monday. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-17 commander Lieutenant Colonel Rabiul Islam Robi confirmed the matter to banglanews Sunday evening. He said, that the fortune seekers will be handed over to the BGB personnel after a meeting with Myanmar Immigration Department at Chambu town administrative building on Monday morning.
The date of their return was fixed earlier on July 30 and later shifted to August 5. However, Myanmar navy rescued 727 migrants from their water. A total of 160 from the rescued people were handed over to the BGB after identifying them as Bangladeshis.
