A total of 136 male and 22 female players were selected after the second phase of the ‘Robi Khoj’ no. 1 Spinner campaign held on Wednesday at the Bangladesh Cricket Board Academy Ground.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Robi- Axiata have jointly and successfully completed the first and second phase of Khoj the No.1 Spinner campaign held recently.
Following the nation-wide talent hunt initiative, the campaign has selected 136 male and 22 female spinners for the trial session in the third phase.
In total 14 males and 2 females from Dhaka and 17 males and 1 female from Rajshahi were selected in the last divisional phase competition held in the respective cities yesterday.
Earlier, 17 males and 3 females from Chittagong, 12 males and 4 females from Khulna, 19 males from Sylhet, 6 males and 1 females from Barisal, 12 males and 4 females from Rangpur, 11 males and 2 females from Mymensingh, 16 males and 1 females from Comilla and 12 males and 4 females from Faridpur have been selected from the divisional phase of this campaign.
The third phase (From 20th to 27th March) will be residential in nature. It will be held at the National Cricket Academy. BCB central technical team will be in charge of the talent selection process at this phase. Robi will provide all the logistics support.
The spinners selected from the second phase will be put through some grueling fitness test with thorough analysis of their bowling action with the help of video analysis. At the end of this phase the winners of the competition will be declared.
