Risingbd.com :A total of 155 Bangladeshi migrants, recently rescued from Myanmar sea territory, were brought back home through Ghumdhum border in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban district on July 22.The Bangladeshi migrants have also met with their family members on Friday. The Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) handed over the 155 Bangladeshi migrants to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) delegation through a flag meeting at the border around 11:00am on the day.The government repatriated the 155 Bangladeshis completing the police verification, sources said. Earlier, the Myanmar authorities had sent a list of 528 people to Bangladesh authorities who intended to return to Bangladesh. Later, the government has identified 155 people, out of 528, as Bangladeshi nationals after the police verification. The Bangladeshis were reportedly going to Malaysia and Thailand through sea illegally.
