One hundred and fifty four new books arrived and four books were unveiled on Thursday, the 5th day of the Amar Ekushey Boi Mela.
The Bangla Academy authorities on Thursday announced ‘Children Hours’, so that children can buy books smoothly between 11am and 2pm on February 6, 7, 13 and 14.
A drawing competition for the children will be held at 8:30am today (Friday) on the Bangla Academy premises. Artist Hashem Khan will inaugurate the competition.
Meanwhile the number of visitors is increasing day by day despite fear of arson attack.
Of the new books, 30 are storybooks, 15 novels, 11 essay books, 28 poems, seven on research, 16 children literature, seven on biography, six on Liberation War, one drama, six on Science, four on history, four on travel, three on religion, three on Science Fiction and 13 others.

A discussion on “Acharjya Sunitikumar Chattyapadyai” was in the main podium of the Bangla Academy.
Professor Golam Mostafa presented the keynote paper at the discussion. Professor Md Abdul Quayyum presided over the function while Professor Mansur Musa and Hakim Arif discussed, among others. A fascinating cultural festival was held in the evening.
