About 150 km roads, 10 pools, culverts and other infrastructures worth Tk 30 crore have completely been damaged by flood in Dewangonj upazila of Jamalpur district.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sultana Razia said, this year’s three phases flood have completely damaged these infrastructures.
Upazila Engineer Mohammad Shahed Alam said, it is very difficult to continue the office activities as eight posts have been remaining vacant for long time.
Shahed Alam said, rain, flood, and plying of over loaded trucks are responsible for the roads damage. Over 30/35 tonnes loaded vehicles ply over the roads whereas their capacity is only 10 tonnes.
He urged to government for taking initiatives to solve the problems.
