Indian Petrapole Immigration blocked its 150 nationals return to their home country from Bangladesh through Benapole International Check Post on Tuesday.
They are now in extreme misery at the check post. They are from Dhaka by Bus in early morning.
Benapole Immigration said that because of the lockdown in West Bengal due to the Coronavirus, the Indian immigration is not allowing Indian nationals to return to their country.
Ahsan Habib, Officer-in-Charge, Benapole Immigration, said that the Indian Immigration Authorities had informed
them that they would not allow their own citizens to enter India in any way.
As a result, Benapole Immigration could not put exit seal on their passports.
The stranded Indian nationals said they are all Indian nationals. They want to return to their country before the visa expires but the Indian Immigration refuses to accept them. They do not know why? No one is saying anything to them.
