15 rivers marked rise, 66 fall

Water levels in 15 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 66 stations recorded fall.
Among the 83 monitored water level stations, water levels at six monitored river stations are flowing above their respective danger marks while another four rivers station has remained steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Monday.
The Lakhya at Lakhpur, the Lakhya at Narayanganj, the Padma at Sureswar, the Kushiyara at Sherpur, the Dhalai at Kamalganj and the Kangsha at Jariajanjail are flowing above their respective danger levels by 66 cm, 10 cm, 35 cm, 13 cm, 3 am and 11 cm. All major rivers are in falling trend, the FFWC bulletin added.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am on Monday.
