Fifteen eminent personalities have been named finally for this year’s Ekushey Padak in recognition of their contribution to different fields.
The recipients are Shamsul Huda for language movement, Dr Badrul Alam (posthumous) for language movement, Shomarjit Roy Chowdury for Art, Ram Kanai Dash for Art, Keramat Mowla for Art and SM Solaiman (posthumous) for Art, Golam Sarwar for Journalism, Dr Enamul Haq for Research and Dr Anupom Sen for Education.
They are joined by Jamil Chowdhury for language and Literature, Belal Chowdhury for language and Literature, Rashid Haider for language and Literature, Bipradas Barua language and Literature, Abdush Shakur (posthumous) for language and literature and Professor Dr Mujibur Rahman for social service.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the Ekushey Padak to the recipients at the Osmani Memorial Hall on February 20, a day ahead of the International Mother Language Day, the release added.
