Dengue patients are increasing day by day in hospitals while the experts warned that the authorities did not take ample preparation for tackling the spreading.
On Saturday, at least 15 more dengue patients were hospitalised across the country, in total 310 since January.
All the 15 were in Dhaka city.
A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said it.
The data of the DGHS said that about 43 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in Dhaka city and only one patient was undergoing treatment outside the capital.
The data showed that of the total dengue hospitalisation, a total of 218 or 70.32 per cent were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka city.
The data also showed that 121 were hospitalised in May, 23 in April, 20 in February and March each and 126 in January.
Experts expressed their anxiety saying the authorities are doing less to contain dengue as the mosquito controlling activities are not sufficient.
The DGHS in a pre-monsoon survey in April found a higher density of Aedes mosquito in Dhaka compared with what was in 2021 and predicted a worsening dengue situation if a quick steps would not taken.
A total of 267 dengue patients came round and no official death was recorded in 2022, the data showed. The number of hospitalised dengue patients saw an increase in May, it showed.
In 2021, at least 28,429 dengue patients and 105 deaths were recorded by the DGHS.
