15 more coronavirus patients die, 266 test positive in 24hrs: health minister

Staff Reporter: Bangladesh on Friday reported 15 death from coronavirus in last 24 hours which is its highest death in a single day.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque revealed it in a online press briefing in Dhaka.
With the new cases the death toll reached to 75, the minister said.
The minister also said that 266 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, which is also the highest number of infection with Covid-19 in a day in the country.
With this, the total number of infected has reached 1,838.
A total number of 2,190 samples were tested in the last 24 hours across the country, the minister added.
He said that 58 persons have been recovered and released from hospitals so far.
The health minister said that there are shortages of ICU in the country comparing with European countries but it is increasing day by day.
He said the facilities to treat Covid-19 patients is increasing across the country.
Meanwhile Professor Dr. Meerjadi Sabrina Flora, the Director of IEDCR said in the briefing that most of the Covid-19 patients need not take to hospitals for treatment.
“Most of the coronavirus patients have to stay home as peer the World Health Organisation (WHO) directives,” Dr. Sabrina said.
