Staff Reporter :At least 15 people were killed, including five of a family, and several others received injuries in separate road accidents in seven districts on Friday.In Panchagarh, a truck rammed a three-wheeler in the Charmile area on the Panchagarh-Tetulia Highway in the morning, killing five of a family, a woman, and injuring a child. The victims were identified as driver Mostafizur Rahman, 30, his cousin Amirul Islam, 36, Amirul’s wife Jesmine, 25, their daughter Orpi, 6, relative Monir, and Niaz, 32.The bodies had been sent to the Panchagarh Sadar Hospital’s mortuary, police said.Md Mominul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station, said that all the victims were passengers of the three-wheeler auto-rickshaw.The OC said that the truck driver fled the scene after it had collided head on with three-wheeler, killing six on spot.In Munshiganj, an army officer was killed and three others were injured in a road accident at Baluakandi in Gazaria upazila in the morning.The deceased was identified as Major Fazlul Quayyum, 33, of Rangpur Cantonment. Two of the injured were identified as captan Nafiur Rahman, 26, and an army personnel Giasuddin, 35.Gazaria thana OC Fedous Hossain said that a private car carrying some army and navy officers hit hard a roadside tree near Bhuiyan Filling Station at about 11:45am as the driver lost his control over steering, leaving four injured.Of the injured, Major Fazlul was rushed to Sonargaon Health Complex in Narayanganj in an unconscious state where doctors declared him dead, he said. The car passengers were returning to Dhaka from Comilla Cantonment after attending a training programme, the OC added.In Dinajpur, two motorcyclists were killed when a passenger bus hit their motorcycle in Dashmail upazila in the afternoon.The victims were identified as Shiahab, 25, and his wife Kona, hailing from Birganj upazila of the district, said, Russel, SI of the police station.In Nilphamari, a schoolboy was killed in a head-on collusion between a motorcycle and a goods-laden truck on the Domar-Debiganj road at Collegepara under Domar upazila in the afternoon.The deceased was identified as Soyel Hasan, 14, a student of class eight of Kaliganj High School and haling from Debiganj upazila of Panchgarh district. In Tangail, three motorcyclists were killed when a passenger bus fell their motorcycle on the Modhupur-Tangail Road in Hadirabazar area of Sadarupzila.The victims were identified as Mintoo, Minhaz, and Ziaur, hailing from Modhupur upazila.In Sirajganj, at least two persons were killed when a truck felt into a ditch beside the road after the driver lost its control over steering, leaving them dead on the spot in Kamarkhanda upazila in the morning.The identities of the victims could not be known immediately, said Helal Uddin, OC of the police station.In Magura, a minor girl was killed when a car rammed her at Isakhada village in Sadar upazila early in the morning.The victim has been identified as Namia, 6, daughter of Shain Mia.
