At least 15 persons were killed by lightning strikes in several districts across the country on Saturday.
In Pabna, at least four people, including three members of a family, were killed in tragic lightning strike in Bera Upazila of Pabna district on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Farmer Mutaleb Sarder, 55, his two sons Farid Sarder, 22 and Sharif Sarder; and his neighbour Raham Ali, 55, from Pachuria village in the upazila.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Asif Anan Siddiqui confirmed the news that four people were struck by the thunderbolt when they were in a ditch in the area around 3.30pm.
In Sunamganj, two persons including a man and his minor son were killed by the thunderbolt while they were fishing in the river on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Haridul, 45, and his son Tara Mia, 10, inhabitants of Manikkhila village under South Sreepur union.
Tahirpur Police Station OC Atiqur Rahman confirmed the matter.
In Mymensingh, at least three persons were killed by thunderbolt in two separate spots in the district on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Chaitu Koch, 22, Jamal Uddin,40, and Shohag Miah,24.
Firoz Talukder, Officer-in-Charge of Fulbaria Police Station told the matter to media.
In Chuadanga, at least three workers were killed in lightning strike in Alfadanga upazila of the district on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Al amin,30, son of Mokbul, Huda,32, son of Golam Rasul, and Hamidul,35, son of Barkot.
Sonia Ahmed, Duty Doctor of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital confirmed the matter to the media.
In Netrokona, a farmer named Enamul Haque, 22, was killed in lightning strike in Kalmakanda upazila of the district on Saturday morning.
The deceased Enamul Haque, son of one Mohammad Ali, a resident of Sonnasipara village under Rongchhati union in the upazila.
Rongchhati UP member Mozammel Haque confirmed the news to the media.
In Rajshahi, a farmer named Durul Huda,55, was killed in lighting strike in Godagari upazila of the district on Saturday.
