15 injured, 20 houses burnt in clash in Shibganj

At least 15 persons including OC of Shibganj thana Ashiqur Rahman were injured during a clash over a trifling matter between two villages in Uzirpur union under Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Saturday evening.
At least 20 houses were burnt during the clash, police and local sources said.
While contacted, police super Bashir Ahmed said, following a quarrel between two students of Uzirpur and Babupur villages, the villagers sat for arbitration on Saturday afternoon.
At one stage, both the groups were locked in clashes with sticks and sharp weapons.
They also charged a number of crude bombs.
Being informed police went to the spot and fired 15 rounds of bullet of shot gun and five tear shells to bring the situation under control. Additional police forces were deployed in the area.
The injured OC took treatment at the local health complex. Deputy commissioner Sardar Sarafat Ali and police super Bashir Ahmed visited the spot.
