Fifteen illegal shops and structures on J M Sen Gupta Road at Kodomtola area in Chandpur town were evicted after they were demolished on Thursday.
These illegal shops and structures were erected like mushrooms for the last few years, on both sides of JM Sen Gupto Road at Kodomtola area and also in front of and around the residence of the Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, MP.
A Mobile Court led by Additional District Magistrate Abdullah Al Mahmud Jaman in collaboration with Chandpur Municipal authority conducted the eviction drive from 10.30 am till about 2 pm today Thursday.
Executive Magistrate Morshedul Islam, Chandpur Municipal Secretary Abul Kalam Bhuiyan, Municipal Executive Engineer Md Shamsuddoha and local Paura Councilor Humayun Kabir Khan were present on the occasion.
Besides, two sand traders were fined Tk 2 thousand at Truck Ghat for illegally cutting Paura Road to continue their business without permission from Municipality.
Talking to the pressmen, the ADM has said, ‘Eviction drive against illegal shops and structures will continue in future in Chandpur for the interest of the general people’.
