15 children get back their eye sight

Chattogram Eye Hospital with the support of Orbis International , QFFD, and CBBSH conducted ophthalmology operations successfully to fifteen children including 10 Rohingya children recently.
In the meantime, a total of 40 children were operated in eye and get their vision again .
 Five month old Iasmin Bibi was born with congenital cataract had first time surgery and now she can see. Once again, Orbis’s humanitarian response program has restored Iasmin’s vision along with 14 more children from FDMN and local community of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh on December 17, 2019 after unlatching the bandage from their eyes. With the support of Qatar Fund For Development (QFFD), QCV Expanding Eye Care in South East Bangladesh project started the surgery on December 14, 2019. Chittagong Eye Infirmary & Training Complex (CEITC) is providing surgical assistance to this program under the supervision of Orbis’s partner Cox’s Bazar Baitush Sharaf Hospital in Cox’s Bazar.. In this fifth batch of surgery, Md. Erfan (12), Md. Sadek (2), Lalu (3.5), Enayet Ullah (10), Shahida Begum (2), Tasmina Ara (6), Md. Shahed (2), Iasmin Bibi (5 months), Ataullaha (12) and Salman (3) from Rohingya refugees and Mostafa (12), Md. Tarek (7), Rafiq Alam (11), Rabiul (10) and Mobib (2) from Cox’s Bazar Local Community received surgical treatment and on-going medical support.
 Though there have primary eye care services in Cox’s Bazar but there were no pediatric surgery facilities, which prompted CEITC to provide with its skills and facilities for the FDMNs children.Dr. Merajul Islam and Dr. Nasimul Gani of CEITC performed the surgeries at CETIC. The project so far examined more than 100,000 children both from Rohingya Refugee and local community and provided around 8000 spectacles to the children.
