At least 15 activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Comilla University unit were injured, among them two bullet-hit, in a clash between two factions of the unit over establishing supremacy on the campus on Friday night.
Campus sources said, Nazmul Hossain Alif, president of the university unit BCL, and its secretary Reza-e-Elahi had long been at loggerheads over establishing supremacy on the campus.
As a sequel to the enmity, supporters of Alif attacked supporters of Reza while taking tea at around 10pm, triggering a clash in front of
Bangabandhu Hall of the university.
Later, both groups exchanged fire, leaving two people injured with bullets.
Besides, 13 other BCL men were also injured during a chase and counter-chase among them.
Bullet-injured Azad, a supporter of Alif group, and Mezbah of Reza group were rushed to a local hospital from where Azad was shifted to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
