Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court yesterday framed charges against senior BNP leaders Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Amanullah Aman and Joynal Abdin Farroque and 144 others in a case filed with Paltan Police Station of the city for creating panic and unrest in 2013.Under the Speedy Trial Act the case accuses them of bombing and going on the rampage in March, last year near BNP central office at Naya Paltan.Metropolitan Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge Tareque Moinul Islam Bhuiyan framed charges against the accused on Monday and set September 25 for recording the depositions of the witnesses.Defence counsel Masud Ahmed Talukder said, police framed charges against 148 people, but the name of accused Omar Faruk was dropped as he had already died.On March 11, 2013, a few handmade bombs exploded at Naya Paltan area during a BNP rally and an hour later, police raided the party central office and detained 155 people.Two cases were filed in connection with the incident and police submitted the charge- sheet on March 28 last year.
