The local administration has imposed section 144 at Bhatipara village field in Diraiupazila on Thursday as two Islamic organisationshave declared to arrange separate programmes at the same venue and time on the same day.
The authorities concerned of Ibrahim Sha Shrine had earlierannounced that they will hold an ‘Urs’ at Bhatipara village field today.
Besides, anti-Islam activities prevention committee called a programme protesting arrangements of ‘Urs’ and submitted a memorandum to the local administration over the issue, creating tensions in the area.
Apprehending trouble, the local administration has imposed the emergency section apparently to maintain law and order as two groups did not reach any consensus, said Mostafa Kamal, officer-in-charge of Dirai Police Station.
