Awami League-led 14-party combine extended its total support to the ongoing drive taken by Awami League-led government against illegal casinos, corruption and misdeeds in the capital and elsewhere in the country.
“The 14-party alliance hailed the ongoing crackdown against corrupt individuals and illegal casinos,” spokesman of the 14-party Alliance and ruling Awami League presidium member Mohammed Nasim told journalists on Tuesday after an informal meeting of the alliance leaders at his Dhanmondi residence in the city.
He said different political and other issues dominated the brief discussion of the 14-party leaders which was followed by a tea-party.
The alliance leaders, Nasim said, expressed their satisfaction over the ongoing drive being carried out by law enforcement agencies under the directive of Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina.
He said the 14-party vowed to stay beside Sheikh Hasina, daughter of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, to rout all corrupt practices to gear up the ongoing development of the country.
