14 more killed in road crashes

Reckless driving again takes 14 more lives on the streets. At least 14 persons including four in Chattogram were killed and 20 others seriously injured in separate road crashes across the country on Thursday.
In Chattogram, at least four workers of a brick kiln were killed and three others injured when a truck locally named ‘Chander’ Gari ploughed through their house at Islampur in Rangunia upazila of the district early Thursday.
The accident took place when a wood-laden truck ploughed into a house, where workers were sleeping there, located at a brick kiln in Gabtoli area in the morning, killing the four workers on the spot.
 Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

In Mymensingh, at least two persons including a 60-year-old woman and her 7-year-old grandchild were killed when a passenger bus rammed them on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Trishal upazila of the district on Wednesday night. The deceased were identified as Anwara Begum and her grandson Jannat.
The accident occurred when a private car and a bus one after another ran over the duo while they were crossing the highway in Kazir Shimla area at 9:00pm on Wednesday leaving tehm dead on the spot.

In Brahmanbaria, a pedestrian named Emamin was killed when a auto-rickshaw rammed him at Kazipara area under the district town on Thursday.
The accident took place around 11am. Shohjag Rana, Officer-in-Charge of Brahmanbaria Model Police Station confirmed the news to the media.
In Tangail, a passenger of auto rickshaw named Monju Miah, 45, was killed when the vehicle overturned in Modhupur upazila of the district on Thursday.
Delwar Hossain, Station Officer of Modhupur Fire Station confirmed the news to the media.
In Naogaon, a school girl named Tastia Akhter,14, was killed and two others seriously injured when a tructor hit them at Bagarbari area under Raninagar Upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon. ASM Siddiqur Rhaman, Officer-in-Charge of Raninagar Police Station told the news to the media.
In Chandpur, an youth named Shohag, 19, was killed when a pickup van rammed him in Kochua upazila of the district on Thursday noon.
Mohammad Waliullah , Officer -in -Charge of Kochua Police Station told the news to the media.
In Faridpur, a minor boy named Rabbi, 11, was killed and his parents were injured when a truck hit them in Bhanga upazila of the district.
Sheikh Mahfujur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Bhanga Police Station confirmed the matter to the media. In Rangamati, an indigenous youth named Bouddhu Bijay Chakma, 38, was killed when a police pick up van hit him in the district town on Thursday morning.
