Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) on Friday recorded 14 new Covid-related deaths in 24 hours.
Of the deceased, five were confirmed Covid patients while the remaining exhibited symptoms of the virus, said hospital director Brigadier General Shamim Yeazdani.
Of them, six were from Rajshahi, four from Chapainawabganj, three from Naogaon and one belonged to Natore district.
A total of 274 people have died of Covid-19 at the corona unit of RMCH in the last 25 days, according to officials.
Besides, 65 people have been admitted to the hospital with Covid symptoms in the past 24 hours. With the fresh cases, 423 patients are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital against 357 beds. Of them, 283 are from Rajshahi, 64 from Chapainawabganj, 31 from Natore, 29 from Naogaon, eight from Pabna, three from Kushtia, two from Chuadanga, and one each from Dinajpur and Dhaka. “However, we are providing treatment to all Covid patients at the hospital after arranging additional beds,” said Shamim.
