Some 14 villages in Bhurungamari upazila of Kurigram district have been flooded due to continuous rain and onrush of water from upstream.
Thousands of people have been marooned the Dudhkumar and Phulkumar rivers continue to swell.
Transplanted Aman paddy and vegetable fields were damaged where fishes from local ponds were washed away. Project implementation officer Shahinur Alam said a report on the recent flood was sent to district deputy commissioner.
