Police detained 14 activists of BNP and its key ally Jamaat-e-Islami in nightlong derives in different areas in the district on Tuesday.
The detainees include four from BNP, and 10 from Jamaat and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir.
Chittagong district additional police super (ASP) Mohammad Naimul Hasan told that they conducted drives in Sitakunda, Satkania and Lohagara thanas from Monday midnight to Tuesday morning.
They nabbed the BNP-Jamaat men in accusation of their involvement in violence, the ASP added.
