Police Week-2017: 132 personnel received `Police Medal`

A total of 132 police personnel received Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and President Police Medal (PPM) on Monday.
They were awarded with the medals for their bravery and heroism in their services in last one year, according to a statement issued from the Police Headquarters.
Of the policemen, 26 got the BPM award and 24 for BPM-Service, while 41 received the PPM award and 41 got PPM-Service award.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina conferred the medals to the respective police personnel at the inaugural ceremony of the five-day Police Week-2017 at Rajarbagh Police Lines ground in the city on Monday.
Among the selected cop members, four are army personnel and three others posthumous. Sheikh Hasina received salute in the annual parade of different contingents of police forces in the inaugural session.
The medal awarded officials are: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General Benazir Ahmed, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Iqbal Bahar, DMP Additional Commissioner (Now Barisal Range DIG) Sheikh Mohammad Maruf Hasan, Khulan Range DIG S M Moniruzzaman, Rajshahi’s DIG M Khurshid Hossain, Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit Chief Monirul Islam, RAB Additional DG (Ops) Colonel Anwar Latif Khan, RAB-12 Commanding Officer (Additional DIG) Shahabuddin Khan, RAB-6 CO (Additional DIG) Khandakar Rafiqul Islam, DMP Joint Commissioner Krishnapad Roy, CTTC Joint Commissioner Aminul Islam, RAB-1 CO Lieutenant Colonel Tuhin Mohammad Masud, RAB-7 CO Lieutenant Colonel Miftah Uddin and RAB Media Wing Director Mufti Mahmud Khan.
