130 dengue patients hospitalised

At least 130 patients were hospitalised in 24 hours preceding 8:00am on Friday of who four are from outside Dhaka, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the new cases, a total of 5,160 were diagnosed during the running month out of a total 23,357 infected. Of the total infected, 3328 are from outside Dhaka.
At least 7841 were diagnosed in September, 7698 were diagnosed in August, 2286 patients were hospitalised in July, 272 in June, 43 were infected in May and the rest are from January to April, according to the DGHS. According to the DGHS 89 people have died of dengue infection in the country this year, all who died in July, August, September and October.
Twelve people died in July while 34 have died in August 23 in September and 20 in October so far.
Among the deaths, 82 have died in Dhaka division, two in Chattogram division and Khulna and one each in Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Barishal division.
Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 823 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 154 outside the capital, the DGHS data shows.

With no fresh death reported, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease this year stood at 89, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of them 82 people died in Dhaka division alone, two each in Chattogram and Khulna divisions and one each in Rajshahi, Barishal and Mymensingh divisions.
Among the new patients, 126 were undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining four cases were reported from outside the division.
Some 823 patients diagnosed with dengue are receiving treatment in the country as of Friday.
Of them, 669 patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the remaining 154 were listed outside Dhaka.
Since January, some 23,357 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue in the country. So far, 22,445 dengue patients have left hospitals after recovery, said DGHS.
In September, the country recorded the highest number of 7,841 dengue cases of the current year with 22 deaths.
