At least 13 persons including a BGB member were killed and 50 others seriously injured in several road crashes across the country on Saturday.
In Narayanganj, at least two persons including a driver and his helper were killed when a locally known vehicle ‘Esharmata’ fell into a roadside ditch in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj on Saturday evening.
The deceased were identified as Nayeem, 20, the driver and his helper Sattar Mia.
Local sources said, Nayeem died on the spot when the recklessly-driven vehicle lost control in Bhaktabari area, around 3:30pm.
The helper was rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries where he was pronounced dead by the physician.
Rupganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Emdadul Huq confirmed the matter to the media.
In Panchagarh, two motorcyclists were killed when a truck rammed their vehicle on the Panchagarh-Tetulia Highway at Barrister Bazar in Sadar upazila on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Manik Hossain, 25, son of one Jahidul Islam of
Sadar upazila and Nayan Islam, 22, son of Noor Islam of the same area.
Niranjan Sarker, Panchagarh Fire Service Station Officer said, the accident occurred when the truck hit the motorcycle, leaving Manik dead on the spot and Nayan injured.
In Brahmanbaria, a minor girl was killed and two others were injured in a tragic road crash in Akhaura upazila of the district on Saturday.
Deceased was identified as Ayesha Akhtar, 2, daughter of one Omar Faruk , resident of Gokarnaghat village under Sadar upazila.
Dharkhar Police Outpost Inspector Md Masud Alam Chowdhury confirmed the matter to the media.

In Jhenidah, a minor boy named Junayed Hossain,7, was killed when a easy bike rammed him in Mohespur upazila of the district on Saturday.
In Madaripur, an Elderly person died when a motorcycle hit her in Rajoir upazila of the district on Saturday morning.
Mohammad Shajahan, Officer-in-Charge of Rajoir Police Station said to media. In Gopalganj, a youth was killed after losing control over the steering at the Bedgram area under Sadar upazila of the district.
The deceased was identified as Lipton Molla, 23, son of one Sirajul Islam Mollah from Borashi union.
In Habiganj, a helper of a truck named Milon Pramanik, 27, was killed and driver of the truck seriously injured when a truck hit another truck on the Dhaka-Habiganj Highway on Saturday morning.
In Bogura, a van driver named Abdul Hannan, 42, was killed when a truck hit him in Shajahanpur upazila of the district on Saturday.
