Staff Reporter :At least 13 people, including four Ijtema devotees, were killed and another 15 received injuries in separate road accidents in different parts of the country on Friday. In Dhamrai, four Ijtema devotees died on the spot and another eight were critically injured when a bus and a private car collided head-on on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Dhamrai, at the outskirts of the capital. The deceased were identified as Zaheer Uddin, 36, Nasir, 40, and Nazim, 40, passengers of the private car, inhabitants of Jessore. Later, the driver of the car Rejwan, 40, succumbs to injures in a local hospital, said Mohammad Rasel Sheikh, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Savar Police Circle.In Shajadpur, three people were killed and another one was injured in a road accident at Shahajadpur area in the capital on Friday morning. The deceased were identified as rickshaw pullers Billal Hossain, 30, and Md Liton, 30, and Security Guard Abu Taher Bhuiyaan, 60. In Uttara, an unidentified woman died on the spot when a pick-up van hit her near the Holly Lab Diagnostic Centre at Uttara in the capital around 6:00am. The body had been sent to the DMCH morgue for an autopsy, police said. In Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, a youth died on the spot when a pick-up van hit her near Ganabhaban area at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital in the afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Rasel, 24, inhabitant of Mohgammadpur in Dhaka.In Kataban, a student of Eden Mohila College was killed in a road accident in city’s Katabon area. The deceased was identified as Rima Akhter, 20, daughter of Habibur Rahman, residing in Dhanmondi 32 area of the capital.In Kustia, a school boy was killed in a road accident in Kustia Sadar upazila early Friday. The deceased has been identified as Akash, 8, student of class two in a local school. In Natore, a youth died on the spot when a pick-up van hit a man in Narore Sadar upazila. The deceased has been identified as Rafiqul Islam, 50, inhabitant of Baragram upazila in the district. In Sunamganj, an unudntified woman was killed on the Dhaka-Sunamganj highway in the morning.
