Police in separate drives in different areas in the port city rounded up 13 persons allegedly involved with the trafficking of yaba , wine and heroin . In the drives, 935 pieces of yaba, 330 liters wine and 45 doses of heroin were recovered from the detained persons.
The special drives against the drug peddlers were conducted by Addl.Deputy Commissioner SM Tanveer and Asstt . Police Commissioner Kamruzzaman , a CMP press release said.
Sources said among the detainees , Imam Hossain held from Sholakbahar, Amir ali alongwith 4 others from Reazuddin Bazar, Tapan alongwith 2 from New Bridge, two with Chandmiah from sholasahar, Jane Alam from Nasirabad, Al Amin from Sanowara residential area and Saiful Islam with another one held from Mohona residential area of the city.
Separate cases have been lodged against them with narcotics control act, sources said.
