Police in a drive arrested 13 people, accused in murder, extortion and robbery cases, from an under-construction building at Shantipara in the district town on Sunday night.
The arrestees are Akash, Ramim, Mostafa Madan, Golam Rasul Titu, Zahir Uddin Badal, Bahauddin, Evon, Kajol, Piyas, Ashraf, Alamin, Kalu Sheikh and Liton.
Tipped off that a gang of terrorist was staying in the 4-storey under-construction building, a team of police surrounded it around 11pm, said Abu Zihad Fakhrul Alam Khan, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
After the two-hour drive, police arrested them from different rooms and toilets of the building.
Mahbubur Rahman, superintendent of Chuadanga police, said the terrorists gathered in the building for working out a plan either to stage an act of sabotage or commit a big robbery.
Among the arrestees, Akash is the prime accused in the businessman Golam murder case, while Ramim, Titu and Badal are listed terrorists and nine others accused in different drug-related cases.
