Detective branch of Barisal metropolitan Police arrested 13 gamblers from Boidyapara area of Gorosthan Road on early Wednesday.
Azad Rahman, assistant commissioner BMP (DB), said a team led by Sub Inspector Ahsan Kabir arrested the gamblers from an abandoned house of the area and also recovered Tk. 31,467 from them.
The arrestees were Faisal, Abdul Kader, Kalam Shikdar, Tapas Talukdar, Abdul Hamid, Azad, Shamsul Alam, Sabuj, Md. Selim, Mojibor Rahman, Raja Hafizur Rahman, Monju and Shuvo.
The arrested 13 gamblers were placed before the metropolitan magistrate court on Wednesday and Nusrat Jahan, magistrate of the court sent them to jail on Wednesday afternoon.
