The 12th meeting of Chittagong Port Advisory committee was held on Sunday at Bandar Training centre hall in the city with Minister for Port and shipping Md. Shahjahan Khan MP in the chair.
Lawmakers of Chittagong and members of the committee opposedthe proposal of the Port chairman over the acquisition of land for Bay Terminal .Member Parliament and member of the committee Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury declines the proposals of the chairman over land acquisition and approval of two container yards.
In favour of the MP ShamsulHoque Chowdhury’s oppose, two other lawmakers present in the meeting also opposes Chairman’s proposal. Meanwhile the Shipping Ministeralso declined any kinds of favouritism in appointing the Laskar for the port authority.
Shipping Minister in his deliverations said a vested quarter accuses me for my alleged interference in appointing Laskar posts which is mere propaganda against me. Lawmakers ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, ShamsulHoque Chowdhury and MA Latif were present in the meeting among others.
