 The 12th Annual General Meeting of GPH Ispat Ltd was held at Chittagong Club on Wednesday, says a press release.
Chairman of GPH Ispat Ltd, Md Alamgir Kabir GPH Presided the meeting, Managing Director Mohammed Jahangir Alam, Additional Managing Director Md Almas Shimul, Md Asrafuzzaman, Md Abdul Ahad, Md Azizul Haque, Independent Director M.A.Malek, Velayet Hossain, Executive Director (ED)- Group & Company Secretary Abu Bakar Siddique FCMA, ED- F& B.D Kamrul Islam FCA, ED- Plant Engr. Madani M. Imtiaz Hossain, Advisor-Internal Audit Arafat Kamal FCA and Chief Financial Officer H. M. Ashraf Uz Zaman FCA were present at the general meeting.
Apart from that the share holders of the company were also present at the programme. The financial reports of GPH completed by June 30, 2018, relevant audit reports and reports of board of directors have been approved unanimously. The meeting also approved 1o% stock dividend for the shareholders for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
Chairman Alamgir Kabir said “GPH Ispat Limited believes in innovative concepts and always try to make it effective. The company’s vision is to “enrich the steel sector of Bangladesh as a beacon of light and to help in the development of the country’s future infrastructure.
“GPH Ispat, itself, has institutional values of teamwork and entrepreneurial approach” as well as institutional beliefs like “promotion of social well being, result orientation and emphasis on employees’ self realization” and been practicing those actively.
“With an aim to make the steel market competitive internationally, GPH Ispat is working on deepening its root in Ispat business and flourishing of Ispat related marginal business of the country through coordinating the steel sector,” he added.
Managing Director Mohammed Jahangir Alam said, GPH has been building state-of-the-art steel plant with ultramodern technology to meet current and future demand of steel. The plant will go for production in the first half of 2019. Facing off different business circumstances and challenges, GPH has adopted policies of reducing cost, enriching product quality, saving electricity and providing customer service. As a result GPH has executing integrated multi and inter-institutional research.
