A total of 117 dengue patients were admitted to Gaibandha Modern Hospital (GMH) till Sunday and of them, 101 patients were released from the hospital after treatment.
Now, some 15 patients are undergoing treatment in GMH and one in Fulchhari Upazila Health Complex.
This was disclosed by civil surgeon (CS) Dr. ABM Abu Hanif in a monthly meeting of District Development Coordination Committee at the conference room of District Collectorate Building here on Sunday afternoon.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin presided over the meeting while additional DC (General) Alamgir Kabir Saikat moderated the function.
CS Dr. ABM Abu Hanif also said a number of admitted patients were referred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
No man was infected with dengue disease in Gaibandha the CS said adding that all were infected in Dhaka.
CS Dr. ABM Abu Hanif put emphasis on creating social awareness among the people about dengue diseases, and keeping continuation to cleanliness drives
in the society and it had got positive result of the drives to prevent dengue in the district.
UNB from Bagerhat reports : At least 12 new patients were diagnosed with mosquito-borne disease dengue here in the last 24 hours till yesterday morning.
Bagerhat Civil Surgeon Dr GKM Shamshuzzaman said the number of dengue infected patients is increasing in the district and 14 of them are undergoing treatment at Bagerhat Sadar Hospital and upazila health complexes.
Since July 27, 102 people were admitted to different hospitals with dengue fever, he added.
Shamsuzzaman said the hospitals have opened special corners for dengue patients to provide treatment and suggestions.
At least 1,706 new patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till Sunday morning across the country, according to Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The number of dengue patients was 1,460 on Saturday, 1,719 on Friday while 1,929 on Thursday, 1,880 on Wednesday, 1,201 on Tuesday and 2,097 on Monday last.
The rate of new infections fluctuated around the last week even though it showed a slight fall on Friday and Saturday but increased again on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the number of new infections in district level also increased in the last 24 hours from Saturday’s 839 to 972 on Sunday.
The government has so far confirmed 40 deaths although unofficial estimates suggest the death toll is much higher.
Currently, 7,168 patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals and clinics, less by 7 percent than Saturday. Of them, 3,668 are hospitalised in the capital and 3,500 around the country.
One dies, 80pc dengue patient returns home after treatment
BSS from Khulna reports : One dengue patient died in Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Mizanur Rahman 40, a vegetables grocer, son of late Akher Ali, hailed from village Khajadanga under Rupsha upazila in Khulna.
Razib, brother of deceased Mizan said he was admitted to KMCH on August 15 with dengue fever. He breathed his last this morning during treatment, confirmed Residential Physician (RP) of KMCH Dr Shailendranath Biswas.
Meanwhile, around 80 percent out of total 2,706 dengue patients, who have been admitted to hospitals in 10 districts of the Khulna division, have returned home after recovery.
A total of 2,142 patients infected with the mosquito-borne disease have left hospitals so far, according to Additional Director Dr Ferdousi Akter, Director of Health in Khulna Division.
According to health officials a total of 2,706 patients so far were diagnosed with dengue fever in different hospitals. Out of them eight people died from the disease.
Now 491 patients are taking treatment in different hospitals and clinics. In the last 24 hours 117 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals while 73 patients has been referred to Dhaka, Dr Ferdousi said.
