125 new books land in Fair

One hundred and twenty-five new books landed at the Amar Ekushey Boi Mela on Thursday and 19 books were unveiled at the Nazrul Mancha.
Of them, 24 were Story books, 27 Novel, 7 Article, 28 Poetry, 2 Thesis, 5 Rhyme, 1 child Literature, 3 Biography, 2 Liberation War, 2 Drama, 1 Science, 1 Excursion, 2 History, 2 Health, 1 Science Fiction and 17 Miscellaneous.
The new books are “Swapno Vromon Jerusalem” of Bulbul Sarwar and “Himel Hawa” of Rezaur Rahman published by Oitezza Publication, “Humayun Humour Ebong Nijoshsho” of Ahsan Habib published by Oboshor Publication, “Dinopideia” of Vobesh Roy published by Anupom Publication, “Smaronio Byaktitto” of Ahmad Sharif and “Ahmad Sharifer Diary” of Ahmad Sharif published by Agami publication, “Dona” of Dipu Mahmud published by Ananna Publication and “C Programming” of Jakir Hossain published by Adarsha Publication.
Meanwhile, the Bangla Academy chose today (Friday) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm as the Children’s hour.
For celebrating the part of Amar Ekushey, a children drawing contest will be held on the main podium of Boi Mela. Artist Samorjit Roy Chowdhury will inaugurate the contest at 8:30 am.
A discussion titled “Bangla Bhashar Itihash Charcha ” was held at 4:00 pm in the main podium of Academy. Professor Muntasir Mamun presided over the function, while Professor Mahbubur Rahman presented the keynote paper. Professor Mejbah Kamal and Ashfaq Hossein were the discussants.
Later, a fascinating cultural program was held at the main prodiume. The artistes were Nadira Begum, Dilruba Khan, Asghar Alim, Mohammad Nur ul- Islam and Abdul Kuddus, among others.
At 4:00 pm, a discussion titled “Rastra Bhasha Andoloner Suchona O 11 March 1948” will be held today (Friday) on the main podium of Academy. Economist Atiur Rahman will preside over the function, while Cultural Activist Golam Kuddus will present the keynote paper. Ahmad Mazhar and Moshiur Rahman will participate in the discussion.
