The district administration on Wednesday decided to send 122 human trafficking victims, out of 150, who were brought back to Bangladesh from Myanmar on June 8, to their respective home districts. Among the rest victims, 24 children will be sent to the court and four have already been handed over to the police.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Cox’s Bazar M Ali Hossain confirmed this. Four victims, including two Rohingyas, were handed over to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station on Tuesday night.
On June 8, a total of 150 Bangladeshi human trafficking victims who had been
rescued by the Myanmar authorities on May 22 were brought back home from Myanmar after a flag meeting between the border forces of the two countries.
