More than forty-five thousand peoples of twelve thousand families observed Eid ul Fitr on Tuesday in accordance with Saudi Arabia in 80 places of 10 upazilas under Barishal, Patuakhali, Bhola, Jhalakati and Barguna districts.
They offered Eid Jamats (Eid congregational prayer) and slaughtered sacrificed-animals on Tuesday morning.
Participants of the Eid ul Fitr festival on Tuesday claimed they are the followers of Kaderia, Jahangiria and Chistia Tarika and Pir of Elahabad Sufia Darbarsharif at Kanchan Nagor and Pir Shaheb of Mariachi Darbar Sharif of Satkania under Chittagong district.
They are the resident of Madhavpasha, Kedarpur, Tajkati, Talukdar Char, Nishan Baria, Haji Banshkati of Babuganj, Sundarkati of Bakerganj, and Harinafulia of Sadar upazilas of Barishal, Galachipa, and different villages of Baufal, Kalapara and Sadar upazilas of Patuakhali, Charfesson upazila of Bhola, Taltali of Barguna and Nalcity upazila of Jhalakati districts.
Zahangir Shikdar, one of the followers of this sect, said they usually observe all religious festivals, customs and worshipping according to the calendar and systems of Saudi Arabia.
Amir Duari, another local leader of them, said they started Ramadan fasting and observing Eid ul Fitr one day before the other sects according to the direction of their Pir Shaheb of Mariachi Darbar Sharif of Satkania under Chittagong district.
