 Police in a drive detained four Jamaat-Islami Chhatra Shibir leaders in Mymensingh area on Saturday night on secret information, a team of police raided a house on Saturday night and held the four Jamaat-Islami Chhatra Shibir, said Imarat Hossain Gazi, officer-in-charge(OC) Mymensingh Zila DB Police station.The arrested men were identified as Abul Khair Mohammad Abdulla,55,and his two son Waliolla Mojahid,30,and Atulla Galive, 16,Akter Hossain, 50.Police conducted the raid on information that the leaders gathered at the house to plan subversive activities, Police said.
UNB from Pabna reports: A joint force of different agencies in simultaneous drives conducted from Sunday night to Monday morning arrested 91 people, including 11 activists of BNP and three activists of Jamaat, from different areas of the district.
Additional Superintend of Police Siddiqur Rahman said a team of the joint force, comprising members of police, Detective Branch (DB) and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), conducted separate drives in 11 upazilas of the district and arrested the 91, including 11 of BNP and three of Jamaat, on various charges.
BNP-Jamaat men were arrested on sabotage charges, added the ASP.
UNB from Satkhira adds: A joint force of different agencies in simultaneous drives conducted from Sunday night to Monday morning arrested 25 people, including five activists of BNP-Jamaat, from different areas of the district.
Enamul Haque, sub-inspector of the Special Branch (SB) police said a team of the joint force, comprising members of police, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and Border Guard Bangladesh, conducted separate drives in seven upazilas of the district and arrested the 25, including one of BNP and four of Jamaat, on various charges.
Police said the BNP-Jamaat men were arrested on sabotage charges.
