Customs officials on Friday seized 120 gold bars, weighing 14kg at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The gold bars were seized from under a seat of a flight of Regent Airways in the morning.
Acting on a tip-off, a smuggling prevention team of Dhaka Customs House searched the flight at 8:30am and recovered the
gold bars from under a seat, Shahiduzaman Sarkar, Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House said.
“The bars weigh 10 tolas each. The estimated price of the gold is Tk seven crore,” he said. However, no one was detained in this connection.
