Staff Reporter :The law enforcers detained at least 12 suspects in connection with the murder of Monwara Sultana, mother of Lt Col Khalid Bin Yusuf, who was found with her throat slit on early Sunday at her living room at Uttara in the city.”The detained persons did not provide any liable information in police custody during interrogation,” said an Assistant Commissioner, Uttara Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).Investigators are continuing the investigation as they could not unveil the clue of the mysterious killing, he said, adding: “We are conducting the investigation after the consideration of different crime scenes.”Police suspected that robbery was not behind the murder as the killers had not taken Tk 2 lakh from a table in the room, the police official said.He categorically admitted that militant might have link with the sensational murder. But the law enforcers are not sure about the motive yet,’ the AC said. Uttara West Police Station Sub-Inspector Mamun Miah, said that Monwara sultana lived alone in the house.Several injury marks were found in her neck and other parts of the body, he said. The victim’s younger brother Mirza Azam said that after her husband’s death in 2009 she started living alone in the flat.Her younger son lives in the USA and elder son in Australia. Another son who is an army lieutenant colonel is posted in Chittagong Cantonment.Mirza Azam said, a maidservant was not coming to the flat for about a week and a security guard was absent from duty for three to four days.
