Water levels in 12 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 67 stations recorded fall.Among the 83 monitored water level stations, water levels at three monitored river stations are flowing above their respective danger marks while another three river stations has remained steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Tuesday.
The Brahmaputra-Jamuna, Ganges-Padma may likely to fall and upper Meghna may likely rise in the next 72 hours.
The Lakhya at Lakhpur, the Padma at Sureswar and the Kushiyara are flowing above their respective danger levels by 59 cm, 31 cm and 11 cm. All major rivers are in falling trend, the FFWC bulletin added. Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am on Tuesday A total of 63 mm rainfall was recorded at Lorergarh, 30 mm at Jessore, 22 mm at Satkhira and 20 mm at Khulna.
