12 more killed in road crashes

Reckless driving continues across the country during the Eid journey. At least 12 persons were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Monday.
In Bagura, at least three persons including two siblings were killed in separate road crashes in the district on Monday.
At Nandigram upazila, two siblings were killed in a tragic road accident in Padmapukur area under Nandigram upazila early Monday.
The deceased were identified as Angur Ali, 40, and Habibur Rahman, 20, sons of one Ayez Uddin of Tayebpur village in the upazila.
Kajol Nandi, Officer-in-Charge of Nandigram – Kunderhat Highway Police outpost told the news to media.
At Sherpur upazila, a construction worker named Farid Uddin.40 was killed in a tragic road crash in the district on Monday.
In Lakshmipur, at least two persons including uncle and his nephew were killed when a local human hauler rammed their motorcycle in Ramganj upazila of the district on Sunday night.
The accident occurred in front of Jugi Bari area on the Ramganj-Dhaka Highway.
The deceased were identified as Md Sumon Hossain, 38, son of late Abdul Mannan, of Ramganj and his nephew Md Tamim, 14, resident of Shahapur village in Chatkhil Upazila.
Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramganj Police Station confirmed the news to the media.
In Nilphamari, two people were killed when a passenger bus rammed an auto-rickshaw on the Saidpur Road in Saidpur upazila of the district on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Mohon, 14, and Shafikul Islam, 28, the rickshawpuller; both were inhabitants of Nilphamari sadar upazila.
Saidpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahjahan Pasha confirmed the matter to media.
In Feni, a woman and her daughter were killed in a crash between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Sadar upazila of Feni district on Sunday night.
The deceased were identified as Zohura Munni, 36, wife of one Liakat Ali, and her daughter Faria akter, 16. They are from Gopal union in Chhagalnaiya upazila.
Abdul Awal, in-charge of Mohipal Highway Police, confirmed the matter.
In Thakurgaon, a motorcyclist named Bipul Ray, 22, was killed when a micro bus hit him in Sadar upazila of the district on Monday.
Shiraj-ud-Doulla, Sub-Inspector of Sadar Police confirmed the matter to the media.
In Natore, a van driver named Dewan Ali, 55, was killed when a pick up van rammed him in Boraigram upazila of the district on Monday.
Mozzamel Haque, Sub-Inspector of Jolmolia Police Outpost told the media.
