Police rounded up 12 Malaysia bound fortune seekers from Khudukhali area of Banskhali upazila coastal side on Friday night. These fortune seekers gathered at Khudukhali point of the coast for voyage to Malaysia by engine boat, sources said. Acting on secret information, police instantly conducted raid and rescued them from the grip of the trafficker gang. The rescued men have been identified as Rezaul Karim(18), Md. Younus(25), Riday (18), Md. Sharafat Miah (18), Md. Yahya (18),
Md. Jabbar (19), Saddam Hossain, Sumon Miah, Mohan Miah, Md. Younus, Md. Jahangir and Eshrab Hossain. of them, three are from Cox’s Bazar district, three from Habigonj district, two from Kishoregonj, two from Narsingdi and one each from Narayangonj and Chandanaish upazila of South Chittagong. Officer incharge of Banskhali thana confirmed that these fortune seekers were caught redhanded from the houses of Syedul Alam and Sajjad Hossain of the area. None in connection with the human trafficking has been yet arrested, sources said. Police filed a case mentioning the names of 22 trafficking gang men alongwith 12 unidentified, sources added.
