12 killed in road accidents

At least 12 people including a police ASI were killed in several road crashes across the country on Friday. The deaths were reported from Dhaka, Mymensingh, Netrakona districts. Of them, four died in Dhaka,two in Netrakona and six in Mymensingh. Police sent the bodies to the hospitals.
Dhaka: Four persons including a child were killed and eight others injured when a bus and a human hauler collided in Mirpur and Uttara Sector 8 of Dhaka on Friday noon.
At Mirpur of Dhaka, the identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained. However, two of the injured people are in critical condition and a deceased was identified as Narayan Saha, 45, who was killed  
as a bus of Sakura Paribahan rammed the rickshaw he boarded along with his son.
Shah Ali Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Sirajul Islam told the media that the accident occurred at 1:30pm as a passenger bus rammed the human hauler in Chatbari area of Mirpur leaving three people dead on the spot. The injured were sent to different hospitals in city.
Netrakona: A member of Detective Branch of police and a source of the law enforcers were killed when a truck ran over their motorbike on the Mymensingh-Netrakona Road at Purbodhola upazila in Netrakona last night.
Deceased Miraz Hossain, 28, was ASI of Netrakona DB police, and Raju Mia, 22, worked as a source of policemen, reports our Mymensingh correspondent.
The accident took place when they by a motorbike were going to Netrakona from Shamganj around 11:00pm, said Shah Nur-e-Alam, Inspector of Shaymganj Police Investigation Centre.
The truck and motorbike were seized from the spot, he said.
The bodies were sent to Netrakona Sadar Hospital.
Mymensingh: Six people were killed when a passenger bus and auto-rickshaw collided in Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh on Friday afternoon.
The identities of the deceased could not be known. However, initially it is being suspected that they were passengers of the auto-rickshaw.
Tarakanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mazharul Islam told Banglanews that the accident took place around 3:30pm killing five people on the spot and the other on way to hospital. On information, police were sent to the spot.
Four passengers and the driver of an auto-rickshaw were killed and one injured as it was run over by a bus in Tarakanda upazila of Mymnesingh yesterday afternoon.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be known, our local correspondent reports quoting Mazharul Huq, Officer-in-Charge of Tarakanda Police Station.
The injured was whisked off to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
A Dhaka bound bus of ‘Imam Paribahan’ ran over the auto-rickshaw in Kakni area on the Sherpur-Mymensingh Road around 3:15pm killing the five including its driver on the spot, the OC said.
Police seized the bus after the incident but its staff managed to flee, he added.
