Staff Reporter :Customs Intelligence Department recovered at least 12 abandoned gold bars weighing 12 kilograms worth around Tk six crore from the city’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) during the small hours of Friday.However, no one was arrested in this connection, Customs Officials said.Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate’s Director General, Moinul Khan, said that a special team of Customs Intelligence conducted a search operation inside the Cargo Unit of the Airport following information and recovered the gold bars from a wooden box of electric fans around 2:30 am.”The box has been sent from Hong Kong in the address of a company in Bangladesh,” the DG said.Moinul Khan said that the authority started an investigation to catch those behind the foul play.A case had been filed in this connection, the Customs Official said.
