12 injured in automobile service centre fire in Tejgaon

At least 12 people have sustained burn injuries in a fire at an automobile service centre in the Tejagaon Link Road area of Dhaka.
The incident took place around 2:30pm on Saturday. The injured were taken to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery for treatment.
The injured are: Rabiul Islam, 25, Ali Akbar, 50, Shimul, 25, Jewel, 25, Haider, 28, Sonam, 20, Rubel, 25, Masud Rana, 26, Ripon, 33, Shaheen, 40, Ahad, 26, and Sumon, 28.
Habibur Rahman Pasha, service manager of the shop, said the fire started from the engine of a private car that was being worked on. Among the injured, Rabiul Islam sustained 14% burn injuries, Jewel 18%, Ali Akbar 28%, Rubel 14%. The four were admitted to the hospital while the rest were released after primary treatment.
Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute Resident Surgeon Partho Shankar Pal said two of the four admitted to the hospital are in critical condition, while the other two are out of danger.
