12 homeless families get PM’s gift homes

On the occasion of Mujib Year, the government is giving land and houses to another 53,340 families across the country in the second phase of the Asrayan project to provide shelter to the helpless landless and homeless.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the land and housing project through video conference. Following this, 12 homeless families are getting houses under this priority project in Kapasia upazila of Gazipur.
On Sunday morning, documents of houses and land were handed over to 12 helpless and extremely poor families at the Upazila Parishad auditorium by the Upazila administration.
As the chief guest, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mosa. Ismat Ara handed over the house and land settlement documents to the helpless.
Advocate Md. Amanat Hossain Khan, Chairman of Upazila Parishad and Vice President of District Awami League, Tanvir Farhad Shamim, Assistant Commissioner (Land), President of Upazila Awami League, former MP Alhaj Muhammad Shahidullah, General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Pradhan, Officer of Kapasia Police Station were present as special guests. In-charge Md. Alam Chand, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Asaduzzaman Asad, Women Vice Chairman Raushan Ara Sarkar. Officials and party leaders of different levels of administration were present at the time.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tanvir Farhad Shamim said that in the second phase, 12 helpless families without land or houses were handed over the PM’s gift house and land settlement documents. He added that in the first phase, houses and documents have already been handed over to 100 helpless homeless families.
Safiur Rahman Joardar, Upazila Project Implementation Officer, said 12 helpless families received the Prime Minister’s gift house in the second phase of the Deona Asrayan project in Targaon Union of the upazila. He added that the cost of each house in the second phase has been estimated at Tk 1 lakh 90 thousand.
