UNB, Cox’s Bazar :Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested 12 Bangladeshi people from the Naf River in Jadimora area of Teknaf upazila on Wednesday night while they were trying to go to Malaysia illegally. One suspected broker-Shafiqul Islam, a resident of Nilaa village of Teknaf upazila, was also arrested from the area.Mohammad Mosa, Tekhnaf station commander of Bangladesh Coast Guard, said being tipped off, an operation team of Coast Guard launched a drive in the area at about 10:30 pm and arrested the 12 people who gathered there before setting off forMalaysia by a boat with the help of the suspected broker, Shafiqul, without valid documents.The victims hail from different places of Bagura, Kishoreganj and Jessore districts. A case was filed with Teknaf Police Station in this connection.
