At least 12 dwelling houses were gutted in a fire at Kadamtali village of Chandraghona area under Rangunia upazila of the district this morning.
Soroj Kantri Goash, officer of Rangunia Fire service said the fire originated from the flame of candle light in a house at Shill bari around 5.45 am and it quickly spread to other houses.
On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 7 am.
Valuables worth about TK ten lakh were gutted in the fire.
