At least 12 bullet-hit among 50 people were injured in the clash between the ruling party’s two group over establishing supremacy at Khalifatrhat in Daudpur Union of Noakhali Sadar upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The agitate activists of local Awami League and Jubo League have vandaised at least 50 shops and looted goods and valuables in cash. reports our district correspondent quoting Police. Of the injured, Shanto, Solaiman, Sumon, Jasim, Ahid, Masud, Manju, Monir and Sabuj were admitted to local hospitals and clinics.
According to locals, some armed men led by Daudpur AL leaders Zahir and Rashid carried out the attacks on Sadar upzila JL youths and sports secretary Mizanur Rahman alias Shipan and his some of the followers at Khalifarhat when they were retuned to Maizdi court.
Sudharam Model Police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Hossain said that police brought the situation under control in the evening.
Efforts to arrest the culprits on, the OC said.
